How Clarence has contributed and grown through the years.
During his tenure, he transitioned from a small six bed foster home into a top tier non-profit corporation. Under his visionary leadership and managed growth, Eggleston has expanded its program operations to include eight departments: Residential Treatment, Foster Care, Adoptions, Family Preservation, Substance Use Disorder, Behavioral Health, Human Resources and Accounting.
Along with his duties as Executive Director, Clarence Brown has served as a committee member of Success Is Our Future Scholarship Program for foster youth for twenty-six years and Chairperson for twenty years.
His commitment and dedication to providing compassionate high quality services to youth and families has resulted in his assembly of an exceptional long-term team of valued employees. He values diversity and insists that Eggleston is a place of inclusiveness that welcomes all races, ethnicities and genders. His mission has been and continues to be that Eggleston is a special place for children and families, who have been the victims of trauma, to receive evidenced-based treatment as they begin their journey towards healing.
Clarence Brown was recognized in 2017 by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors with a special commendation for his community service. The Los Angeles County Department of Probation Youth Development presented him with its Outstanding Service Award. The Howard University Alumni selected him as a Man of Distinction Achievement. Additionally, he was the recipient of the Los Angeles County Office of Education Outstanding Partnership Award; San Gabriel Valley Consortium Summer Youth Supervisor of the Year Award; and Eggleston Youth Centers Inc., Lifetime Achievement Award.
Mr. Brown earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Howard University and his Master of Science Degree in Business Administration from California State University at Dominguez Hills.
